Create and send branded race emails fast: pick a template, customize with drag-and-drop blocks, save it, and reuse it anytime.
In this guide, you’ll learn the basics to design your next event communication.
How to Get There
Navigate to Tools Communications from your admin menu:
Make a Template Selection
The first page you land on is the template selector. You can use a default template or create your own. The template you select will be the foundation of your design.

Adding Content
After selecting a template, move on to the design step. Use content blocks to add and format text, upload images, and more.
The drag-and-drop editor lets you duplicate, delete, and rearrange content blocks to customize your communication’s look and feel.
Adding Text
To add text, drag-and-drop a text block into the message.
Type directly into the content block editing pane. Avoid copying from rich-text programs like Word, as they can add unwanted styling code. You have a collapsible editor above the content box as well as in the editor on the left.
Adding Images
Images are added with the Image content block. You can use them for event logos, course maps, sponsor banners, or race-day photos.
1. Drag in an Image block
From the content panel on the left, drag the Image block into your message and drop it where you want the image to appear. A blue line shows where the block will land.
2. Upload your image
Click the new block to open its settings on the left. Highlight the block and click [Upload Image] or drag a file from your computer straight into the upload area. You can also paste a link to an image that's already hosted online with Image URL.
3. Adjust the size
By default, an image displays at full width or its original size, so a large photo can take over the entire email. To fix this, use the [Width / Auto Width] setting in the image panel to set how wide it appears. You can also use [Alignment] to center it, and add a link so readers who click the image go to your event page or registration.
Image Size Guidance
Most email inboxes display messages about 600 pixels wide, so resizing your image before you upload it gives the best results:
- Full-width images (banners, hero photos): 600px wide. For extra sharpness on high-resolution screens, upload at 1200px wide and set the display width to 600px.
- Logos and smaller graphics: 150–300px wide.
- File size: keep each image under 1 MB, and ideally under 500 KB. Large files load slowly and can be clipped by some email providers.
- File type: use JPG for photos and PNG for logos or graphics with text or transparent backgrounds.
Free tools like your computer's built-in photo editor, Canva, or TinyPNG can resize and compress images in a few seconds.
Using custom HTML instead? If you add an image through a custom code block, always include a width so it doesn't display at full size:
<img src="https://your-image-link.jpg" width="600" style="max-width:100%; height:auto;" alt="Describe your image">Adding Additional Content
After adding the text, you can include images, menu options, buttons, and even custom code. You can duplicate and delete sections, create columns, and edit the mobile view of your email.
