If you host multiple event dates throughout the year, a registration series is one of the easiest ways to turn one-time participants into repeat customers. Runners commit to your full season up front, you lock in registrations early, and everyone gets a reason to keep coming back.
What is a registration series?
A registration series bundles two or more of your races into a single package. Runners register once and are entered in every race in the series — usually at a price that rewards them for committing to the whole lineup.
Three ways to set your registration series up
There are two ways to offer a series on UltraSignup. Choose whichever fits how you want the series to appear to runners:
Option 1: Create a dedicated event page for the series. Set up a separate event page just for the series bundle. This gives the series its own identity, its own registration link, and its own spot in search — great if you want to market the series as its own product.
Option 2: Add a package pricing option to the first race in the series. Add the series bundle as a pricing option on the first event in the sequence. Runners registering for race one simply choose the package option to get the full series. This keeps everything on your existing event pages with no extra setup.
Option 3: Create a single event page for the whole season.
Host every date on one event page — our team can set an end date so the page spans your full season. If you'd like runners to cherry-pick their dates rather than commit to the full lineup, we can also set up a "multi-select" registration button that lets them choose any mix of dates in a single checkout. This is a great fit for weekly or monthly series where runners' schedules vary.
Series results are optional
If you'd like to publish cumulative series results — combined standings across all races in the series — you can, but it's not a requirement. Plenty of series are purely a registration bundle, and that works just fine.
Series Awards & Swag
Part of planning your series is deciding whether series registrants get anything extra for committing to the full lineup. Some ideas that work well:
- Series-only swag — a finisher item (hat, mug, custom buckle) reserved for runners who complete every race in the series.
- Series awards — recognize top overall finishers or age group winners across the whole series, not just individual races.
- Series points tracking — award points at each race and crown a series champion at the end. If you want to introduce points tracking for your series, our team can help you set it up — just reach out.
Getting series registrants onto each race's entrant list
UltraSignup support can build an automation that places your series registrants on the entrant list of every race in the series, so you don't have to manage transfers manually. If you're interested, just contact us and we'll set it up for you.
