Want to create a donation-based event on UltraSignup? Once your event is set up, you can collect donations in multiple ways. You can set a small registration fee with donation add-ons, offer free registration with optional donations, or create different pricing tiers as donation levels. Below are the steps to configure your event for donations.
To create a donation-based event, start by creating a new event. Once that's done, you have several options for collecting donations.
Option 1: Small Registration Fee + Add-On Donation
Set a small registration fee (e.g., $15 for a 5k) and create a donation add-on with various tiers, so participants can add a donation to their fee. Taxes are not applied to add-on donations.
Option 2: $0 Registration Fee & Optional Add-On Donation
Set the registration fee to $0, and collect donations via an optional add-on. Participants can choose to donate or pay nothing. The add-on can also be set as required.
Option 3: Various Pricing Options as Donation Levels
Create single-tier prices for your event distance with various donation levels (e.g., "Level One Donation - $10; Level Two Donation - $20").
