How to Pause Credit Card Charges for Your Event on UltraSignup
Need to pause credit card charges for your event? UltraSignup allows race directors to temporarily halt charges until the event is confirmed. Follow the steps below to pause charges and place runners on a waitlist. When you're ready to activate payments, simply disable the pause and send invitations to the waitlisted participants.
How Does it Work?
Event Setup > Edit Event > Timeline
This feature allows race directors to temporarily halt credit card processing until confirmation is received that the event will take place. Follow these steps to use the feature effectively.
Enabling Your Pause Credit Card Charges Setting
Access Event Setup:
- Log in to your UltraSignup account.
- Go to "Edit Event."
Activate "Pause Charges":
- Click on the "Timeline" tab within the event setup.
- Check the box labeled "Pause Charges" at the top of the page.
- When runners register, they will be placed on a waitlist instead of being charged.

Disabling the Setting & Charging Runners
Access Event Setup:
- Log in to your UltraSignup account.
- Go to "Edit Event" and click the "Timeline" tab.
Deactivate "Pause CC Charges":
- Uncheck the "Pause CC Charges" box at the top of the page.
Go to Your Dashboard:
- Access your race director dashboard on UltraSignup.
Open the Waitlist:
- Locate the waitlist for your event and open it to view the list of registered participants.
Send Invites to Runners:
- Select participants to invite for registration completion.
- Send invitations, allowing participants to confirm attendance and update their payment if needed.
Note: It is recommended to use the "Invite" option rather than "Charge and Add" to allow participants to confirm attendance and update payment information if necessary.
