How to Configure Your Event for the UltraSignup Timing App
Using the UltraSignup Timing App for your event? Before you begin timing, your event must be properly configured, and all participant data must be synced. This guide walks you through assigning bibs, generating your event code, and setting up your timing app step by step.
How to configure your event for the UltraSignup Timing App.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Assign Bib Numbers:
- First, make sure that all bib numbers are assigned before downloading data to the app.
- Navigate to the Bib Assignment section and confirm there are no unassigned participants.
- Important: Bibs must be assigned before pulling runner records into the app—this cannot be done inside the app if participants have registered through UltraSignup.
- Navigate to "Get Your Code":
- Go to Timing & Results and click on Get Your Code (it's the third link down).
- Select the type of device you're using (for this example, I'll use an Apple iPad).
- We also have a guide linked here if you have any questions, and there are more videos coming soon to help you use the app.
- Configure Your Event:
- After downloading the app, review all setup instructions.
- You'll be asked, "Are you planning to record participants in more than one location?" For this basic setup, select No—we're only recording at the finish line.
- Then specify how many times each distance will pass through the finish line (e.g., for the 50-miler, 50K, and 100-miler, select Once for each).
- Enter the course lap length for looped events (e.g., 3 miles for a loop).
- Once all fields are filled in, click Generate Code.
- Add Your Code to the App:
- Once your event is configured, you’ll see your unique code displayed on the screen (e.g., "ABCD").
- Open the Timing App, enter this code, and configure your event.
- Your runner information and assigned bibs should all populate in the app without any issues.
That's it for adding your event code and setting up the timing app. If everything looks good and there are no errors, you're ready to time your event.
