Creating a donation-based event #
If you need to create a donation-based event, it’s super simple. Start by creating a new event. Once that is done, there are a few ways to collect donations for your event.
1. Small Registration Fee + Add-On Donation #
Set up your pricing to charge a small registration fee, for example, $15 for 5k registration. Then create a donation add-on with various pricing tiers so that the runners has the option to add that to their registration fee. Taxes are not added to add-on donations.
2. Charge $0 for Registration Fees & Optional Add-On Donation #
You will set up your pricing as a $0 fee, and all donations will be collected via a donations add-on. The runner will have the option to pay nothing or select the amount they would like to donate. The add-on can be set as required.
3. Various Pricing Options as Donation Levels #
Create various prices for the same distance (do not use price changes/tiers). Create 1 tier single prices for your distance. Example: “Level One Donation – $10; Level Two Donation – $20, etc…”.
