Stripe is updating verification requirements for connected accounts in Canada.

What’s changing? #

Starting April 8, 2024, Stripe will collect and verify additional information from existing connected accounts. Depending on the business type, this may include information about representatives, legal entity, directorship, and registration status. Visit our dedicated support page to learn more.

Although there is no action required of you, you may wish to complete the following steps:

• Update your documentation that references onboarding or verification requirements
• Use webhooks to be notified when an account has new requirements, or has had their payouts or charges paused
