This feature has been implemented to address the impact of COVID-19 and allows race directors to temporarily halt credit card processing until they receive confirmation that their event will take place. This guide will provide step-by-step instructions on how to utilize this feature effectively.
Enabling Your Pause Credit Card Charges Setting #
Access Event Setup:
- Log in to your UltraSignup account.
- Navigate to the “Edit Event” section.
Activate “Pause Charges”:
- Click on the “Timeline” tab within the event setup.
- At the top of the page, locate the checkbox labeled “Pause Charges.”
- Check the box to enable the “Pause Charges” feature.
- When runners register for the event, they will not be charged. Instead, they will be placed on a waitlist.

Disabling the Setting & Charging Runners #
Access Event Setup:
- Log in to your UltraSignup account.
- Navigate to the “Edit Event” section.
- Click on the “Timeline” tab within the event setup.
Deactivate “Pause CC Charges”:
- Locate the checkbox labeled “Pause CC Charges” at the top of the page.
- Uncheck the box to disable the “Pause CC Charges” feature.
Go to Your Dashboard:
- Access your race director dashboard on UltraSignup.
Open the Waitlist:
- Within your dashboard, locate the waitlist for your event.
- Open the waitlist to view the list of registered participants.
Send Invites to Runners:
- Choose the participants you want to invite for registration.
- Send invitations to these participants, requesting them to complete their registration.
Note: It is recommended to use the “Invite” option rather than “Charge and Add.” This way, participants can confirm their attendance at the event and have the opportunity to update their payment method if needed.
