We’re excited to announce a powerful enhancement to UltraSignup’s capabilities. Now, you can load both a time and a distance column when uploading timed results, ensuring accurate placements and a smoother experience for both you and the participants.
Here’s What Changed: #
- Results Loader: Load results for fixed time events with both a “distance” (required) and an optional “time” column. The column header should be distance_time (We will be adding this detail to the instructions in the UI)
- Event Results Page Display: On the results page for fixed time events, an additional “time” column is displayed alongside the “distance” column.
- The display change applies only to fixed time events; other event types remain unchanged.
- Sort order based on “distance” first, then “time.”
- Handling placement: We determine placement by “distance” first, then check for “time.”
- Handling ties: We determine ties by matching “distance” first, then we match “time.”
- Ties displayed in a sequence of “1, 2, 2, 4” in both overall and division placement columns.
- Ranking:
- Rankings, both overall and age rank, are still calculated based on “distance.”
Important Notes: #
- If details are not loaded in a time column for a fixed time event, the time column will display all 0’s.
- Fixed distance does not display both time and distance columns.
- Time column is not required but is “all or nothing” – all cells must have a value. If you upload a time column, all cells require a value, otherwise, you will get an error message.
- The live results editor does not yet support changes to both time and distance; You must delete, edit, and re-upload the file for now.
I have tried to follow these instructions many times but always get an error. The results are for “Quail Ridge Farm Backyard Ultra”. It always tells me there is an “invalid time” entry.
